On 20th October 2024, with the support of the Nepali Society of Tasmania (NEST), the Dhamma Pabha Vipassana Meditation Centre in Hobart conducted a one-day Anapana meditation course for children and teens aged 8 to 17. Ten Pathasala students, along with other Nepali and non-Nepali participants, took part in the course.
The program introduced young people to the practice of observing natural breath to calm and focus the mind. With regular practice, Anapana meditation helps improve concentration, reduce stress and anxiety, and build emotional awareness and self-control.
The day included guided meditation, group discussions, stories, and fun activities. NEST supported the course by arranging volunteers, with special thanks to Bishnu Rijal and Meena Neupane for serving during the event.
This initiative reflects NEST’s commitment to nurturing the mental and emotional wellbeing of young people in our community.
