On 25 May 2025, the Nepali Society of Tasmania proudly hosted a community conversation in collaboration with Relationships Australia Tasmania as part of their 75th anniversary celebration, “75 Conversations in 75 Places.”
Approximately 30 community members came together to explore the question:
“What does a connected and respectful community look like to you?”
The discussion highlighted key enablers of connection within our community, including:
Barriers such as gender inclusion gaps, economic challenges, transient membership, and limited community spaces were also thoughtfully discussed.
The session emphasized the community’s vision to build a future that is inclusive, resilient, and rooted in both cultural heritage and strong social infrastructure. It also identified mental wellbeing, long-term sustainability, and youth and women’s empowerment as priorities moving forward.
