On 7th March 2025, the Nepali Society of Tasmania (NEST) proudly hosted an inspiring event titled “Bold Journeys – Women in Business” at the Multicultural Hub, Moonah, Tasmania, as part of the global celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD).
International Women’s Day is not only a time to raise awareness about the challenges women face worldwide but also an opportunity to celebrate achievements and honour the strength and resilience of women across all communities. This year’s event highlighted the remarkable journeys of women entrepreneurs and professionals from diverse multicultural backgrounds, inspiring attendees to pursue their dreams and overcome obstacles in their careers.

Adding to the rich cultural tapestry, the audience was moved by Sarina Pandey’s evocative poetry and uplifted by the soulful live music of Barsha Thapa. The event concluded with a vibrant performance by the Samoan Cultural Collective Tas Inc., showcasing the strength of cultural diversity.
International Women’s Day 2025 was much more than a celebration—it was a powerful affirmation of resilience, self-discovery, learning, and embracing womanhood and new beginnings. NEST is honoured to continue supporting and empowering women within Tasmania’s multicultural community.
