On 31 July 2024, NEST Current President Rojina Tamrakar, Initial Treasurer Rabina Thapa, and Past President/Current Advisor Sansar Raj Chimauriya represented the Nepali Society of Tasmania (NEST) in a meeting with the Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Ms. Leann Johnstone, during her pre-posting visit to Hobart.
Hosted by the Multicultural Council of Tasmania, the meeting focused on strengthening Australia–Nepal relations and discussing the achievements and challenges of the Nepali community in Tasmania.
We thank Lee Wilson (MCOT), Ruth Baird (DFAT), Gillian Long (MRC), and Joanna (MCOT) for their valuable contributions. As Australia and Nepal approach 65 years of diplomatic ties, this engagement reaffirmed the depth of our people-to-people connections.
